Fresh off the press.
These playful explorations take a look at ideas surrounding space and our reaction to it. Who hasn't imagined scary aliens living out in space, or wondered what makes up the rings of Saturn, or if we could live in the caves on Mars and like it, or when will our planet be pulled into the black-hole that keeps our galaxy together, or why do we see what we want to when we look up at the stars?
Well, in Kathleen's most recent serigraphic prints, she does just that. In her Space Series, she uses animals to represent life as she ponders all these questions and more. It is hard not to wonder about the new and exciting theories that scientists have put forth as they try to explain the universe, or should we say multiverse? Will we ever know if their theories are right, or will it always be just an educated guessing game? Who knows, but here Kathleen invites you to join in the fun and let your imagination fly!
Note: The intaglio prints of this series were shown throughout November 2017 at the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center, 23 Royce Circle in Storrs, Connecticut. They were among the work Kathleen exhibited during her solo show through the Artists Live program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, Connecticut Office of the Arts and Windham Arts. We will update this post with details when and where these serigraphs will be on exhibit.
